Union Cabinet on 25th November 2020 approved amalgamation of Lakshmi Vilas Bank and DBS Bank.

Important Points to Remember:
- The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has approved the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Vereniging van Registercontrollers(VRC), the Netherlands.
- The MoU would help in strengthening and developing the Accounting, Financial, and Audit Knowledge Base between the Netherlands and India.
- The engagement between the premier Institutes of both countries would help to generate greater employment opportunities for Indian Chartered Accountants and also greater remittances back to India.
Implementation strategy and Targets:
- ICAI and VRC will work together to hold and conduct Technical Events, Seminars, Conferences in the Netherlands.
- To establish possible co-operation in respect of Member Management, ProfessionalEthics, Technical Research, Continuing Professional Education; ProfessionalAccountancy Training, Education and Examinations, as well as the institutional capacity Building of the Accountancy profession.
- To offer short term professional courses in the domain of Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, and Audit in the Netherlands.
- To discuss potential emerging developments in form of Students and FacultyExchange programs.
- Share available unrestricted information concerning the accountancy profession in India and the Netherlands and internationally when required.
Benefits:
Union Cabinet approved FDI of Rs. 2480.92 crore in ATC Telecom Infrastructure Private Limited by ATC Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd.
Important Points to Remember:
- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the FDI proposal no. 4930 for the acquisition of 12.32% of the equity share capital (on a fully diluted basis) of ATC Telecom Infrastructure Private Limited by ATC Asia Pacific PTE Limited as a result of the exercise of a put option by Tata Tele Services Limited (TTSL) and Tata Sons Private Limited (TSPL).
- This would lead to a foreign direct investment inflow of Rs. 2480.92 crore.
- With this approval, the cumulative FDI of ATC Asia Pacific PTE Limited (ATC Singapore) into ATC Telecom Infrastructure Private Limited (ATC India) will be Rs. 5417.2 crore in financial years 2018-19 to 2020-21.
- ATC Telecom Infrastructure Private Limited is engaged in the business of providing telecom infrastructure services to telecom operators.
- The company has existing FDI approval of up to 86.36 % and with this approval, it will rise to 98.68% (on a fully diluted basis).

- All fixed-line subscribers will be provided with a ‘0’ dialing facility.
- A total of approximately 2539 million numbering series is expected to be generated from the above. This will free up sufficient numbering resources for future use.

- Through the Portal, they can monitor the status of their application that ensures transparency in the process.
- This portal will help a lot of people from the community to come forward and get Transgender Certificate and Identity Cards as per their self-perceived identity which is an important provision of The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019.
